With the hot weather outside, it was hard to believe it was hockey time already. Cutting Edge got off with a bang on Saturday.

The Blades group kicked things off. Tim C stormed out for the White Blades scoring a pair of goals and Brett M added one of his own. However, it was the Kwarciak story Saturday morning. Joshua K scored the hat trick and Jordan K added one of his own for the Purple Blades leading them to the 5-3 win.

Sabres started it off with a tight game going back and forth as everyone found their legs. James M scored his 1st goal of his career. Ryder M also added one of his own for the Black Sabres. White Sabres battled all game taking the win 3-2 with a goal from Aiden M and a pair of goals from Nick V.

The Daggers game was very exciting. For a lot of the kids, it was their first time playing hockey. It's always fun watching how they improve from week to week. Brock C started things off very quickly and ended up with the hat trick. Liam M and Landen M also added one each to give the White Daggers a 5-0 win.

With the Blades series already decided, and the number of players way down, the coaches decided to join in on the fun and play in the game. Unfortunately a powerful wrist shot from one coach may have broken the ankle of another coach... see why we don't do this too often? Either way, it was still a fun game with the White Blades coming out with the 10-7 win.

The Sabres series was also decided last week but that didn't stop a good turn out. Black Sabres took the game 6-4 led by Devyn Z's 4 goals. Colton M and Mike V also scored. Joe B scored for the White Sabres with Jordan K scoring the hat trick.

The stands were full for the Daggers game. The series was 1-1 so it was win or go home for both teams. Eddy Z jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead for the White Daggers but Wade B responded for the Blue Daggers shortly after, sending the game to the second tied. It was all White Daggers after that though. Ryder M scored twice with Jaxen W and Nick V each adding one of their own to carry them to a 5-1 win and take home the Daggers cup. Both Austin A and Owen T stood tall in net for their teams.

White Blades came into this game down 1-0 in the playoff series. Win or go home! They got off to a quick start taking the lead on Jordan T's goal in the 1st. That stood for 2 periods until Purple Blades were finally able to solve Steven O with 3 unanswered goals. Two by Brett M and one by Noah W. That was enough for the Purple Blades to seal the victory and win the Blades Cup playoff series. We will still be playing this coming Saturday.

Down 1-0 in the playoff series, Black Sabres had no choice but to win this one. Things were very close. Tied after one period, and then down 4-3 going into the third period. Unfortunately for the Black Sabres, White decided to lay it all on the line in the third period storming to a 8-4 commanding win and taking the Sabres cup playoff series. Joe B and Clay K scored a hat trick for the White Sabres. Chris J and Nick B also added a goal each. Devyn Z scored the hat trick for Black Sabres and Jacob K scored as well. We will still be playing this coming Saturday.

With the White Daggers up 1-0 in the playoff series, they were looking to put an end to the Blue Daggers season but Blue had a different thing in mind. This game went back and forth, both goalies playing solid. It came down to the wire ending the third period in a 4-4 tie, sending it to a shootout. Both goalies stood tall until finally Kyle C solved Kaiden W to win it for the Blue Daggers sending it to a deciding game this coming Saturday.

It's playoff time folks!

The Blades started it off bright and early. Things stayed close through the 1st period, with the Purple Blades jumping out to a 1-0 lead. It didn't take long before everything blew open. Purple Blades continued to pour it on the rest of the game taking it 7-3. David O scored a hat trick and Joshua K and Jesse V each scored a pair for the Purple Blades. Joey L and Brandon W replied for the White Blades. But the crowd was standing (there was only 2 people) for the return of Jordan T who made his long waited return from the disabled list and scored in his first game back.

Sabres had a great back and forth game. Black Sabres jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead but the White Sabres thought they had the game in the bag after scoring 3 second period goals to go into the third leading 3-1. Black Sabres chipped away and were able to tie it up 3-3 with Devyn Z's third goal of the game with just 5 seconds remaining. Going to a shootout, the White Sabres were able to redeem themselves, winning the game 4-3.

We all knew this playoff series would be tight and if the 1st game was any indication of how it will go, the 2nd should be amazing. Each team scored one in each period, sending it to a shootout. Both goalies stood on their heads until Ryder M finally solved the very solid goaltending of Wade B to win it for the White Daggers. Colby F, Hudson L and Kyle C each scored for the Blue Daggers. Jesse K, and Eddy Z scored for the White Daggers with Luke B adding his first career goal as well.

Should be a great game #2 for each division. Come out and cheer! Don't miss it!!!
