White Blades trailed most of the game but it was Carver B's 2nd goal of the game that tied it in the final minute sending it to a 4-4 tie. Both goalies played well.

The Sabres division saw the Black Sabres come out on top 4-2 led by a pair of goals from Jacob K. Devyn Z and Colten M also chipped in for the Black Sabres while Kyle B and Joe B scored for the Black Sabres.

With the Blue Daggers short on players, White Daggers were kind enough to send over some of their top talent, just for this game. Well they sure made them pay sending the Blue Daggers to a 10-2 win led by a hatrick by Austin A. Paul B chipped in a pair and Nick V also scored for the Blue Daggers.

Everything got underway this morning, bright and early for the Blades group. After shaking some rust off the skates Purple Blades jumped out to an early lead and eventually held on for the 5-2 win over the White Blades.

The Sabres division saw a couple of 13's find the back of the net. Bradey M scored his first career goal for the Black Sabres but the game was tied by Nick B sending the game to a 1-1 tie.

The Daggers division has lots of new players coming in. The White Daggers took the game 5-2, led by 4 goals by Ryder M. Rookie Julia B added her first of her career, assisted by another rookie, Maddie W. Nick V and Wade B responded for the Blue Daggers but it just wasn't enough this week.

All divisions get under way this Saturday, October 6th starting with the Blades (13-16) at 7:30, Sabres (10-12) at 8:40 and the Daggers (7-9) at 9:50.

1) All the teams have been set but please keep in mind, it is normal to do some player trades a few weeks into the season once we see how things play out. We try our best to keep the teams balanced so we can continue to have exciting games all year long. Teams can be viewed on our website here - http://cuttingedge.redzoneleagues.com/divisions. Please note which color team your child is on, it will help as we get things going Saturday morning. We will also have a team list hanging on each dressing room door. Jerseys will be provided. Please look after them as they will be handed back into us at the end of the year.

2) Please continue to check with the website (http://cuttingedge.redzoneleagues.com) for announcements, team scores and player stats. Please note, we do our best to track goals and assists but it can get tricky and will not be perfect. We will continue to communicate via email and website this year. We have yet to cancel due to bad weather. Basically, if the arena guy can open the doors, the ice is available. Use your own discretion.

3) As we did last year, we will continue to hold a short 10 minute on ice devotion with each division. This year, we will be working through the New Testament book of James. If there are any questions at all, please catch up with one of your coaches. Everyone is welcome to come down to the ice and join in for the devotion.

4) We will be playing each Saturday starting October 6th and ending on March 16th, with our end of the year party likely the following week. We will NOT be playing on the following weeks: Nov 3, Dec 22, Dec 29 and Jan 5.

2012/2013 hockey registration is starting now. Please contact us (cuttingedgepeoples[at]gmail.com) and we can email you a registration form.
We will give priority to returning players as long as the form is in by September 1st. If you are new to the league, send in your form and payment ASAP to get your name high up the list in case we run full in any of the divisions.

After a scoreboard contraversy in Game #1 of the playoffs, Purple Blades decided to put the trophy back on the line in a winner takes all game. It was tight through the 1st period, Purple Blades holding a 2-1 lead. But they added to that lead in the 2nd and 3rd, taking the game and the Blades cup 4-1.

Playing for pride, the two Sabres teams went at it again. The Black Sabres jumped out to a early 2-0 lead with goals from William N and Jonah V. But the White Sabres stormed back to tie it in the third. Goals from Nicolas R and Adam W. But it was Colton M that sealed the win for the Black Sabres with a 3-2 win.

Also playing for price, the Daggers teams put on a show. Ryder M seemed like he had something to prove coming out with all 3 of the goals for the White Daggers. But the Blue Daggers didn't give up. Hudson L and Michael D each had a goal before Hudson L came back with a goal of his own in the third to send this game to a shootout. Both goalies stood tall in the shootout until the fifth round where the Blue Daggers finally were able to put one past Jacob K. Blue Daggers took the final game 4-3.
