Week #12

Posted Tue Feb 01, 2011 - 06:12 PM

It was a shooting gallery for the Purple Blades this week routing the White Blades 10-3. Simeon W let the Purple Blades with the hat trick and Jordan T added a goal and two assists.
The Sabres team went back and forth in another close one where the goalies were at their best. Codey W posted his second shutout in as many weeks. Jonah V was able to net the only goal of the game for the Black Sabres leading them to a 1-0 victory.
Both Dagger teams came out flying this week but it was the White Daggers coming ahead 5-3. A pair of goals from Aidan T wasn't enough to hold off the White Daggers who were able to reply with a goal from Tommy H and a pair of goals each from Colten M and Ryder M.

Week #11

Posted Sun Jan 23, 2011 - 03:35 PM

The Blades division started off another entertaining week with a close 6-5 win by the Purple Blades. The White Blades carried a 4-3 lead heading into the third led by goals from Sam L, Matthew W and Luke V. But the Purple Blades stormed back in the third with three goals from Jonathan L, Dan O and Jack T's second goal of the game.
The Sabres teams kept it close again with solid goaltending from both Ben K and Codey W. On his birthday, Tim V was able to score a goal and an assist for the Black Sabres leading them to a 2-0 victory giving Codey W a shutout. Brandon W also added a goal and an assist.
The Daggers were all working hard this week and despite the score it was a real back and forth game. Ben K and David B took to the nets for their first shot at goaltending and both played well. The Whites offense proved to be just too much for the Blues this week as they charged to a 7-1 victory. Keira W was the lone goal scorer for the Blues with a nice wraparound move. The Whites saw goals from Ryder M, Colten M, Jacob K and Michael D who each popped 2 and Isaac B celebrated his first of the year.

Week #10

Posted Sun Jan 16, 2011 - 04:09 PM

For all those that braved the weather Saturday, were able to catch some good hockey. The Blades started things off by adding Jesse and Luke V to their division, the two teams looking for reinforcements in the stretch run of the season. It was the White Blades coming out on top this week with a 4-2 win. Matthew W, Sam L, David V & Joey L found the back of the net for the White Blades with Jack T and Mitchell S replying for the Purple Blades.
With short benches for both the Sabres team, Brandon W was asked to switch over to the White Sabres and after two scoreless periods it paid off. Brandon netted one for his temporary team and Ben K held on for the shutout to earn his team a 1-0 win. Because of the short benches, the coaches each took shifts on the ice but were terribly ineffective.
The White Daggers beat the Blues 5-2 this week with a hat trick from Jacob K and two more goals from Clay K. The Blues tried their best and had some great passing and goals from Carter W and Breydon W but Ryder M was strong in net for the Whites making some key saves. Everyone was working hard to keep their offsides and icing in check, keep up the good work!

Week #9

Posted Mon Jan 10, 2011 - 03:04 PM

The Purple Blades came out flying this week winning the game 9-3 and moving them ahead in the standings by 2 points. Ryan V managed the hat trick and Dan O & Simeon W each put in 2 of their own and added a helper. David V put 2 in for the White Blades but it just wasn't enough this week.
The Black Sabres took advantage of a short White Sabres bench winning the game 5-1. Black Sabres were led by Brandon W's hat trick and Jonah V's goal and assist. Jordan K managed to net one for the White Sabres for the only goal to go by Corey B who was filling in for Codey W this week.
It was a battle of the net minders this week for the Daggers as Curtis J for the Blues and Tommy H for the Whites put on a clinic. They each stopped plenty of shots and kept the game tight for a 1-1 tie. Jacob K opened the scoring in the first for the Whites and Colby F responded with a goal in the second for the Blues. Both benches were full and it was great to have everyone back out on the ice.

Arena Update

Posted Tue Dec 21, 2010 - 04:09 PM

We have received word from the Thedford arena that there has been yet another delay in the renovations. They now don't expect to have ice put in at all this season.
For this reason, we have booked the ice in Watford until March 12th. We hope to be able to rent March 19 & 26 as well and possibly have our year end party April 2 but we are waiting for confirmation from Watford arena on those dates. We will keep you all posted as we get closer. Time slots for each age group will stay the same. (Blades - 6:30, Sabres - 7:30, Daggers - 8:30)

Thanks again for all your patience through this year and an EXTRA special thanks to the Blades and their coaches for taking on the 6:30 A.M. ice time each week.

We hope everyone is enjoying the season as much as we are. Have a great Christmas and see you back in Watford January 8th.
