After taking the loss last week, Purple Blades quickly got back to their winning ways with a 7-5 win over the White Blades. It was great back and forth action. Micheal V did everything he could by put 4 goals in for the White Blades but it turned out to be not enough. David O netted the hat trick and a pair of goals by Joshua K sealed another win to bring the Purple Blades record to 3-1.

Another close game for the Sabres teams. In fact, it's the 2nd straight game that has ended in a tie. This one finished at 1-1 but not before many close chances for both teams to put them ahead. Jordan K put the only goal past for the Black Sabres and Michael G tied it for the White Sabres. The White Sabres continue to search for their 1st win of the season but have been in every game. This puts their record at 0-2-2.

The White Daggers, still without a win, thought today might be the day. Bringing a 1-0 lead into the 3rd, the Blue Daggers poured it on with 3 minutes left to net 2 quick goals and give them the 2-1 win. Both goalies were very solid giving both teams a chance to win the game. Stick with it White Daggers, we can smell your first victory.

It was a change of events for the Blades division. After two close games having the Purple Blades coming out on top, this one was a blowout by the White Blades. They stormed out and handed the Purple Blades an 8-2 loss. Led by 2 goals by Greg V and #11 (unnamed at this point). Zackary J had a very strong game with a goal and 4 assists.

The Sabres division put on a goaltenders duel. If you weren't there to see it, you missed a good one. Ben K and Breydon W were sensational to lead their teams to a 2-2 tie. Both goalies faced multiple breakaways. Brandon W alone had at least 5 of his own but was only able to put one past Ben K. Adam W netted the other for the Black Sabres. Nicholas R and Colin D buried the goals for the White Sabres. It was a great game for both teams.

The White Daggers continue to search for their first win. They put up a good fight today but still came out on the losing end of a 6-3 score. Ryder M scored two and Jacob K scored his 1st career goal for the White Daggers. But the game was sealed by two goals by Owen T and one goal each from Austin A, Joshua V, Michael D and Colby F.

Purple Blades were able to slide through with another close victory, edging the White Blades 4-3. David O led the Purple Blades with 2 goals also helped out by Noah W who added a pair of assists. Michael V netted the hat trick for the White Blades but Codey W shut the door the rest of the way for the Purple Blades victory.

Game 2 for the Sabres group was a great one. Hard working as both teams continue to find their legs to start the season. Colin D started his 1st game of the year and buried one past Breydon W for the only goal for the White Sabres. Black Sabres were led by 2 more goals from Adam W and a goal each from Corey B and Jordan K to bring home the 2nd victory for the Black Sabres.

Unfortunately for the White Daggers, this one was a blow out. The White Daggers continue to search for chemistry within the team. While doing so the Blue Daggers skated to a 8-1 victory. There was a big trade that happened immediately following the game, so we will see if that helps spark things next week. Congrats to Travis P who put in the 1st goal of the year for the White Daggers. Blue Daggers saw goals from Michael D, Callum R, Isaac B, Nate W, and Hudson L.

And so it begins! What a great start to the season.

The Blades division started things off with a very close game. Jesse V netted one in the 1st period for the Purple Blades, after that all the scoring happened in a very busy 2nd period. Brett M and Michael B tried to keep the White Blades in it but in the end Sam L and Noah W's game winner was enough to seal the 3-2 win for the Purple Blades.

The Sabres teams also skated to a very close game. Nicholas R got the White Sabres off to a great start in the 1st putting them up 1-0. But Rookie Adam W replied for the Black Sabres by burying his first goal of the year/career. In the end the White Sabres just couldn't handle the Brebner boys. Corey B put one past the goal line for his 1st of the year assisted by brother Kyle giving the Black Sabres a 2-1 win.

Lots of eager players came out for the Daggers division. Lots of first year players in this division so it should be a really fun year watching everyone learn. Unfortunately it was a lopsided win for the Blue Daggers winning 4-0. Hudson L, Callum R, Michael D, and Isaac B each put one past a very good White Daggers goalie in Tommy H.

Well here we are! Just 3 days away and we drop the puck on another hockey season. Couple quick notes:

-Teams have been posted on the website and can be viewed here (http://cuttingedge.redzoneleagues.com/divisions). We will also have a team list on the door when arriving Saturday morning.
-Reminder full equipment is needed including neck guard.
-Reminder each division has 1 hr 10 min of ice time minus zamboni cleaning. (Blades 7:30am, Sabres 8:40am, Daggers 9:50am)
-We will provide jerseys for the year. Please look after them so they are in the same shape when returned at the end of the year.

We are looking for someone to commit to doing the clock and score keeping for the youngest group (Daggers). The 2 other divisions are already looked after but would be great if we can find someone we can count on each week to look after the Daggers. It is a great way for a high school student to get in their community hours. Please email me if interested.
